I went to the track yesterday post the speedpro install. I kinda rushed myself but I was desprate.. I hadnt run my car in months. I will cut down to the chase. It was instant green street night:

    r/t - .620
    60' - 1.807
    330' - 5.291
    1/8 - 8.195
    mph - 85.35
    1000 - 10.710
    1/4 - 12.832
    mph - 103.34

All at a whooping 9.2 psi according to my datalog (belt starts slipping @6400 rpm!! So now you may be asking why would I be happy with that? Yes my previous best time was a 12.589 @ 110.1 mph, but that was in march when the temps were around 60 and my car was gutted weighing in at a measly 2005 w/o driver, and that was at full 11.5 psi boost throughout the powerband.

Yesterday I was in full trim with headliner, passenger seat, carpet, center console, etc.. (scale was down)

I made some last minute adjustements before the track..

    1) removed thermostat (my coolant temps were at a constant 200 with stock thermostat.. by removing it, it droped temps down to 165-175) which is optimal for performance.

    2) I was aware of the belt slipping so I tried to tighten it just before leaving but to no luck it was still slipping. It is stretched out and I need a slightly smaller one than 270k4 but the next smallest is a 255k4 frown . (I have my belt routed differently) I will now route it the way jr designed it and maybe that will cure my problem.

    3) Put needed some fresh plugs and didn't have anymore ngk so went and bought some plantinum bosh plugs 1.5 colder than stock .. I don't know if that helped or hurt.. but the car runs and I needed some.

Overall, I had an absolute blast out there. I definatley got the fix I had been looking for biggrin It's a cool feeling when american muscle owners go out of there way to talk to you and find out what the hell your "rice burner" gots smile This is just the beginning for me though.. especially considering my car had been tunned in less than one hour of street driving for drivability sakes and 4 wot runs! No exuses.. my car ran what it did and I am proud of it.. now I just got to work out more of the bugs!

gsrev, I was thinking about selling my '89 prelude and getting a 5th gen hatch. Is the CX hatch the lightest one or is the VX? There's some CX's cheap here in the local auto trader.

    Jim,

Speaking of Helm's, do you know where I can buy a honda parts catalog? I'd be happy with the big fat book, though I also hear there is a CD version which is what runs the electronic inventories at the dealerships and collision shops.

I wanna get my hands on the collision and mechanical books for the prelude.

    Alex,
congrat on your times. I had a blast at the track seeing you running against those Vettes. I completely agree with you...JRSC is great for daily driver, but for a track dedicated vehicle, turbo is the way to go... So have you finally decide which turbo kit you will go for?

No I haven't decided yet, but am leaning towards a custom kit. I would like to have an air/water cooler instead of the conventional air/air. Considering my car sees limited street use, except on special occasions biggrin, It is mostly a track car and I think it would be better suited for what I need. Again.. I am still waiting for ben to see what kind of deal he is going to offer, if it's good.. fine.. I will go with it, but that is where I stand right now.
